  I sought Dr. Puryear for a sleep study and was recommended to him by another physician. The sleep study went well, the night time staff and technicians were very friendly. Dr. Puryear seems very friendly and caring, although I have only spent a few minutes with him. The daytime staff is getting better, each visit. They are very busy and are staffing up to meet demand. Be prepared to advocate that they slow down and listen to your needs and questions, rather then to plow forward on their routine and tight time schedule. One of the highlights is the addition of a Nurse Practitioner. She is very bright, and is learning the field at a quick pace. She listens well, albeit her answers are someone bookish at the moment and she has a tendency to lecture. Given time and growth in dealing with a diverse patient group, I suspect she'll be one of the reasons patients improve and are retained over time. I still haven't seen much of Dr. Puryear, but if my questions and concerns are continued to be addressed, and if he is allowed to spend more time teaching and growing bright people like the nurse practitioner mentioned above, this is a positive rather than a problem.
